Sikkim car rental with Your Tours & Travels means a private vehicle with an experienced hill driver, booked from Siliguri — the town between Bagdogra Airport, NJP railway station and the Sikkim border. Whether you need a single transfer to Gangtok or a seven-day circuit covering North Sikkim, Pelling and Darjeeling, we quote per vehicle, in writing, before you pay.

Which car for Sikkim?

For main highways (Bagdogra–Gangtok–Pelling–Darjeeling) a sedan is comfortable for up to 4 passengers with cabin bags. For families with suitcases choose an Ertiga or Innova. North Sikkim, Nathula and the Silk Route require SUV-class vehicles, and in protected areas the vehicle may be supplied by a local operator under permit rules — we coordinate this so you have one point of contact. Groups of 9–14 can book a Tempo Traveller for Bengal-side legs; it is not suitable for high-altitude Sikkim roads.

Per-day sightseeing rental in Gangtok typically falls between ₹2,500 and ₹3,500 for a small car; North Sikkim circuits are quoted as 2- or 3-day packages because of road, permit and accommodation logistics. Fuel, driver allowance, tolls, parking and permit fees are itemised in your quote. See how we estimate fares.

Permits and documents

Indian citizens need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) for Tsomgo, Nathula, Zuluk and North Sikkim — arranged through registered operators with photo ID and passport photos. Foreign nationals need an Inner Line Permit to enter Sikkim and cannot visit Nathula; some North Sikkim areas are also restricted. Our Sikkim permit guide explains timing and documents; we confirm the specifics for your dates when you enquire.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a car rental cost in Sikkim?

For a one-way Bagdogra or NJP to Gangtok transfer, plan around ₹3,500–5,000 for a sedan and ₹4,500–6,500 for an SUV. Per-day Gangtok sightseeing rental is roughly ₹2,500–3,500 for a small car. North Sikkim and Silk Route circuits are quoted as multi-day packages. All figures are indicative; your written quote is final.

Can I rent a self-drive car in Sikkim?

We arrange chauffeur-driven rentals only. Sikkim’s mountain roads, permit check posts and protected-area rules make a car with an experienced local driver the practical and safer choice, and permits for restricted areas are issued to registered vehicles.

Is one vehicle enough for the whole Sikkim trip?

For Gangtok, Pelling, Namchi and Darjeeling, yes. For Tsomgo Lake, Nathula, Zuluk and North Sikkim, local permit rules may require a locally registered vehicle for those legs; we coordinate the hand-over so your plan stays seamless.

Do you provide pickup at Bagdogra Airport and NJP?

Yes. Share your flight or train number and the driver meets you after baggage collection with a name board. Delays are tracked; waiting rules are stated in the quote.

What is included in the Sikkim car rental fare?

Vehicle, driver and fuel for the agreed itinerary. Tolls, parking, state taxes, permit fees, driver night allowance and entry tickets are listed separately in the quote so you can see the total before paying.
